How to regular agenda items. First one is action to modify the legal office specialist three specification. We have a status report regarding this agenda item.
Yes, we do. So this item is being brought forward. So we are making several revisions to the class specification. Most of them are administrative to get it in alignment with our current classification structure and to update it, especially on the class summary, distinguishing characteristics, the typical duties and requirements. We've also made some minor modifications to the minimum qualifications, just in terms of the type of experience we're looking for, as well as added some additional information to the desirable qualifications. And then the other item that we are doing with this specific classification is retitling it to legal office specialist. Currently it says legal office specialist three.
We do not currently have a one or two in the structure. So just really administrative cleanup just to title legal office specialist. And then this item was also reviewed with the bargaining unit two or the classification changes and no concerns.
Do we have any questions or
comments? Well, that was gonna be one of my questions if there was a one or a two, but you answered that one already. How closely parallel does this line up with the Office Specialist 3?
I can take it. And then maybe as Sue is the department representative here, so if there's anything else you would like to add, since this is in the attorney's office. So the office specialist series is more of our general clerical series that's citywide. The legal office specialist is really more tailored to legal work. So we really want them to have that background and knowledge, especially because they're going to be working really closely with the attorneys, helping them
How are the new Legal Office Specialist classification changes being defined and justified?
process, you know, certain legal documents that they're going to need to have some of that background and knowledge of how the process works, the types of documents. So we want to make sure that, you know, they have a little bit more of that specialized expertise. And then so if you want to add anything, you're welcome to. So that That really is at the heart of most of the changes to the class spec is moving it from the general clerical language that did align pretty well with the office specialist three to being... more specific to the legal office specialist classification. It was previously called legal office specialist, but really the the primary skills related to things like confidentiality and things like that, which is, of course, important.
