In your experience, when there's an injustice like that that plays out...
right in front of your eyes, how does it affect the competitive tone of a game?
Jason, we were just talking about how this is a very strange decision in a lot of ways, including the fact that you've got people who are essentially under the umbrella of FIFA, like UEFA, railing against the decision, saying that FIFA has crossed a red line here.
You've got the former head of FIFA, Sepp Blatter, who, as AK points out, probably doesn't have a moral leg to stand on, but is absolutely railing against this decision and calling it a bridge too far.
In your experience, you've walked those halls.
You've been a part of a delegation in international tournaments representing Canada and sort of rubbed shoulders with those blue blazers that run this sport.
I mean, does this put Gianni Infantino's reign as FIFA president under scrutiny in a way that maybe he wasn't expecting?
Jason, we were just talking about how Canada had such a great first half against Morocco and just missed that sort of next-level play that could have put them over the top, gave them a lead, maybe everything changes.
But those next-level plays that we're seeing with the Erling Haaland dominating and the Mbappes dominating, the Messi's and the Ronaldo's through history, just changing games with one touch.
We haven't had a player like that.
Alphonso Davies is the closest thing we've had to a game-changer.
And, of course, we all know he only played a handful of minutes in what was a lamentable end to the tournament for him.
But the question we were having is, can Canada produce guys of that nature?
Is our infrastructure, in your opinion, able to produce a next-level star that could become a guy that dominates the World Cup?
