So one of the challenges you have is suppose the agent buys something that you don't want, who's responsible for that?

So the agent payments protocol is a way of capturing the consumer's intent.

And then on the merchant side, there's a shopping cart protocol or mandate where the merchant commits to offer a set of goods at a particular price and delivery.

And so if those two match up, then you have a transaction.

And you resist chargebacks because you now have proof that the consumer meant to make that purchase.

But as far as advertising, there's another thing called X402, which Coinbase and others are proposing, which actually builds off of a very fundamental aspect of the web, which is a 402 payment required message.

This is the idea of gating or requiring payment for accessing a website.

And so for media sites, this is interesting because they could actually do micropayments to agents for pulling up content from the web.

So there's really two different aspects to it that are emerging.

And merchants are obviously very concerned about agentic commerce because how do they maintain their relationship with the customer?

As always, the fear is that you're going to get competed to the lowest common denominator because the agents are just going to look for the lowest price.

They're not necessarily going to look at things like service quality or product quality or delivery.

Right.

And psychology, the psychology of why people want things, why they decide to buy things.

It kind of has to be all reinvented.

And I think that's scary because it, you know, it's not necessarily the case that the ones who are winning today are going to win in that new world.

I'm going to have to go with stable coins because APIs and AIs are very closely related.

That's basically how you access an API through an API, but a stable coin, you can operate without one.
