In the ninth inning, you didn't think that there was a chance they were going to come back.
6-3 feels a lot different than 6-5 for me.
Did anybody predict that they were going to lose 100 games again?
I think the trap is before we get into the actual game last night, I think the trap becomes the AL Central being bad has been a common trap for the White Sox for many, many, many, many, many, many years.
Do you remember we did the whole categorize the teams and how they were actual contenders or they were in the playoffs or there were the teams trying to sneak by because of the division?
We called it the but the division.
I feel like the but the division can't get into your way of what you're trying to see with the progress of this team.
Can you be happy about what they're doing?
Can you focus, though, instead of on the other teams, on the goals for the White Sox?
Like even working Seth Lugo for five earned runs, forcing two walks out of him and then the four strikeouts.
Lugo was a name that we talked about a lot at the trade deadline.
I brought it up yesterday because he did get extended.
And then for the Sox to work those at-bats, as we saw, for them to be able to also get to the bullpen for Kansas City, that's what you want to see out of a team trying to develop something sustainable in a long-time core.
That's what you want to see, giving these guys quality at-bats, giving them...
Good opportunities.
And yeah, a chance to punch a division rival in the mouth a bit when you don't know necessarily how this shakes out.
I feel like that is still very much in front of them if they want it to be.
The growth can go hand in hand.
