And it's interesting you say it's rumors because I was looking at social media last night and it seemed quite clear that oh, um the Saudi oil company has told lots of processors, oil processors in Europe they're not gonna get anything for a couple of months. matched

But actually it's not as clear as that, is it? matched

So that Iranian backed group in Iraq was using sort of Houthi style tactics, so using drones to attack the the Saudi oil infrastructure. matched

Um yeah, they are being quite secretive. matched

Um I can see though why everyone sort of straight away went to the Houthis are to blame for this, because they had explicitly said in the last few months this is the sort of attack that they were gonna mount. matched

Oh, so the Houthis are sort of saying that they're just responding to the escalation from the Saudis. matched

And also this is an example of where you wish that podcasts came with maps. matched

Because you have to look at at the the west coast of Yemen and you can see that the Houthis have kind of extended their control to that coast, which means that they've got access to shipping in the Red Sea that they can they can mess with. matched

And Simon, it's just a reminder that a huge chunk of the global economy is very reliant on these little pinch points. matched

Where actually it's quite predictable that if the situation deteriorates there'll be a knock on effect to the price of oil. matched

And Caroline, the the Houthis themselves, how has this I don't want to say I don't want to make a sort of cliched uh like assessment of their their fighting power, but how has this group, which are often called rebels, um managed to humble Saudi Arabia, which is a sort of kind of regional superpower and spends tens of billions of dollars a year on its defense and has has matched

Allies like America helping it with its defense? matched

Which just makes me wonder if there's a way all of this could calm down. matched

Because it doesn't seem to me that there's many off ramps for people here. matched
