So I don't just sit and write continuously for eight hours. matched

So Ji Hei Shin and I published a paper a number of years ago on how if you're doing a highly interesting task, matched

If you follow that with a fairly boring task, your performance on the boring task will suffer because the contrast between the work you loved and now the mind-numbing just misery that you're experiencing is too great. matched

And so I've I've tried to treat interesting tasks as a reward for kind of powering through my most boring tasks, or taper a little bit and say, okay, in between, you know, the exciting and the boring but important is matched

Okay, this goes right to your second myth, which has to do with flow. matched

And I have to say this was a big rethinking moment for me when I was reading your book because I guess I've been reading about flow for twenty-five years. matched
