Every so often you have one that plays with it sort of intelligently.
You know, well, some people have compared Can't Miasma to the Joss Whedon film to to to to Cabin in the Woods, which is an interesting comparison.
That was one that I thought a little ahead of the curve was just popping the hood.
And elevating the horror, elevating it past the point of being scary, elevating it into that realm of kind of dissertation or
or or or or discourse.
I mean, that's a movie that really goes for as I recall the final girl in that film.
You see her being like stalked and brutalized and beaten up and you see everyone watching her on their screens, right?
That's that idea of like implicating the viewer, which is what a lot of these movies like to do.
Too Brian De Palme Brian De Palme used to do that without saying I am implicating you, the viewer.
But you know, we can we can talk about that another time.
Yeah, and the and even though it's only there's only and even though I mean the final girl also implies that there are people killed before them.
But a movie like Revenge by Curly Fargiat, she's like the only girl.
Yeah.
Right.
She's the victim, she's killed, she's resurrected, she goes from the victim to sort of the I mean, that one's sort of coded as a kind of rape revenge movie.
But I mean, again, it's a movie that plays with that sort of intelligently.
I mean, there's movies like um, you know, Jen.
Jennifer's Body isn't quite a slasher film, but you know, Diablo Cody's having fun playing with those tropes.
