No, I'm just kidding.
Wait, what was the question?
Sorry.
Yeah, I mean, except for the pasta thing I talked about earlier, mostly I'll have everything ready to go before people get there.
So it's usually like a braise or stew or just something that's in a pot.
It's already ready to eat or something in the oven, like slowly roasting.
It's just like everything is ready.
So when the door opens, I take the wine, I put out the cheese.
And I think the key as a host is to sit on the couch with your guests at the beginning for 30 minutes and be present and sort of be there and
and make people comfortable and they're new to your house and they might not know everybody.
And so you have to put everyone at ease before you transition to the table.
Because I feel like if you race everybody to the table and start stressing out over food and sweating and being nervous, it creates the wrong energy for a dinner party.
And you have to remind yourself, this is not about being the best cook.
This is about creating a nice space for people to kind of come to and feel relaxed.
I think I said this earlier, but just like a safe space for people just to sort of unwind.
Like that's what it's about.
A lot of people who have kids want to get away from their kids.
People who have jobs where they were like miserable all day want to just come somewhere and chill out.
And they don't want to come to the home of somebody who's like freaking out because the roast is over temperature or the chicken looks too dark.
I mean, that makes people unhappy to have to experience that vicariously.
