Reapers killed her parents and she's on this journey of, I guess, constant journey of revenge.
But she does have her new found family.
Like she does have this beautiful at home situation, which is amazing.
Very different.
Oh, my God.
It's like the juxtaposition of her like beautiful, warm, cozy home life and then like spending the nights going out and like murdering soul sucking Reapers.
But then Kiva was also like a very strong character, but she was sort of gentler in a way because she was a healer.
How did you feel about that?
The change in those sort of protagonists?
i think that's what lynette does well she always has like uh characters that feel unique and of themselves and not like cookie cutter it's not like i'm reading the same protagonist that i've done again like always they all have their own feelings and i also remember them all really well even though i tend to read a book and then i just forget every character name like i remember everything that happened but i'm like it's got whereas i was thinking back to prison hill and it's been years since i read that and i was like no i remember everyone and everything that happened
So what were your first impressions of Shadow Reaper?
That's true, actually.
I hadn't considered that.
But yeah, she is.
She goes to write it and she's already like the top of her field at 17.
She's out there.
She's out there.
is worth it for this like you definitely need to read again because you will miss bits and then it'll be you'll just look at it and go oh how did I miss that the first time like it's so obvious or you know that kind of vibe I think it was like the world of this book really like drew me in immediately and I remember reading because like obviously you kind of introduced that world she takes down a reaper in a pub and then very quickly like is confronted with Reeve and like having to being confronted with her path and I just remember messaging Hannah and being like oh my god what do we think is going to happen here
And we immediately started this like endless discourse where we're like, I bet it's going to be this.
I bet it's going to be that.
