And I guess the feeling of the book is like a little bit isolated in the world in a way because it's all set in this one city where, you know, reapers are out there murdering.
Reapers be reaping.
The black mist surrounds the town and no one can kind of escape because it's this sort of magical barrier in a way.
So it is very isolated.
But that creates such a rich like inner world.
And then Cadmus' kind of diaries sort of show you this glimpse of like what things were like or are like outside of that, which I really liked.
And I thought it was a really clever way of doing it.
You're like, I would never give up my magic.
I would be like, no, this is mine and also why can't I ever leave?
You would be a rebel.
I'd be like, okay, take it all.
Yeah, that's always a good way, isn't it, the threat of physical harm.
If you don't give up your magic, you might just explode with magic and die.
I'm not risking it.
Well, let's talk about Reeve, who is our male main character, and he's introduced to us quite early on in the story as sort of like this antagonist to Viri because he's in a prison.
We spoil a lot about prison.
But he's a reaper.
They've clearly got a past, right?
And what I love about him the most is that he is a Damon-esque, dark-haired bad boy.
And I'm allowed to say that because Lynette Noney has sort of come out and been like it was like a little bit vampire diaries coded, which, as you know, is my love.
