But your question was initially phrased in terms of the first thing, agency and paciency.
And the connection is just that we typically understand agency as patience.
practical reason motivated behavior.
So what it is to do something is to have reasons for what you do, reasons that motivate you.
If there were no reasons motivating you, then what moved you didn't exactly motivate you.
They could be outside or inside forces, but what you did doesn't rise to the level of action if it wasn't done on the basis of reasons.
And so that's how the language of rationality
tracks language of agency right and so if the aspirant has a reason if she's acting on a reason then she's acting in effect right if she has no reason for what she's doing then she is in some sense at the mercy of either her environment or her passions and those things are maybe driving her or informing her or affecting her but there isn't anything that she is in the first instance doing
