We saw that with Jeff Bezos spiking the Washington Post editorial board endorsement a couple weeks ago.
Now, he doesn't say that it was because he feared an incoming Trump administration, but that's what a lot of people believe.
And I think that's what people, when people hear, you know, a couple of well-heeled cable news hosts complaining that they might be targeted by the Trump administration, and it sounds a little ridiculous, it's not that, you know, jackboots are going to come knocking at your door and haul you away and send you to Gitmo.
It's that a Trump administration can block a massive merger and really do some damage to the bottom line of your parent company.
And if that pressure is exacted on a massive corporation that really doesn't care about holding power to account, really cares about making profits.
And by the way, ABC, Disney already put its hand on the stove in Florida and felt serious consequences.
Yeah.
There are consequences to that.
I don't think that they're going to pull their punches.
I think there's to be honest, I think that if there's any retrenchment in the aggression of how the media covers Donald Trump, it will be born out of a desire to to understand how the media messed up all of this.
I think there's a lot of soul searching in the media about how despite, you know, now what?
a decade of Donald Trump being in being at the center of American politics, why the media's warnings about him being a threat fell on deaf ears and how he still managed to win an election, you know, four years after the January 6th riot at the Capitol.
So I think if, if anything, some shift in the tone of coverage from perhaps like less hysterically oppositional to Donald Trump to a
moderate.
I think that's going to be born out of soul searching as opposed to any fear that Donald Trump might crack down.
You know, in my experience, journalists are
are the last thing, the last thing that works on them is when they're told they can't pursue a story.
You know, more than anything that encourages them.
So we're dealing with a community of people that do not respond well to that.
