Yeah, I have to say that

That's right, that's right.

And it works in so many ways.

We have mutual colleagues who are running huge companies, and we know folks who are women over huge companies.

And even that part about them being able to own and say,

hey, there's some spaces that are going to be barriers against me because I'm a woman in this field.

And for them to say that, what does that mean when that person names that?

That means that they're not only willing to be vulnerable enough to name what we already know to be true instead of acting like it doesn't exist and doubling down, but you're also inviting and recruiting people to do their part to support your success and to not be able to look away and act like they don't know that this deficit exists, not because I'm any way less, but because of what a system is.

And that helps them.

And you look them dead in the eye that, well, so I want you to know this so you can't walk around at like, oh, I didn't know.

I didn't see that happen.

But for me to be able to say, hey, I know it's going to be different for me because I may be the only brown person in the room.

I may be the only first gen person in the room.

I'm the only person who doesn't have this or that.

And I want to name that.

Doesn't mean I'm saying I'm any less, but I need you all to know it so that people can't act like they don't know the trap door that's always existing there.

Because sometimes you do need people to be able to step into the fold and into the gap so that whenever that impact happens, they can't say, I didn't know that's what would have happened.

Or they're just so much more vigilant of holding the space.

It's not just holding the space in service to you, but holding the space so that it can be the best that it can be, so that it can be impactful.

And so that we are all awake at the will.
