What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This episode is a lesson in vulnerability. It's an opportunity to see what lightning in a bottle looks like and feels like. And it's a very exciting opportunity for Adam and I to introduce you to Eicopathia. So I'll start here. Every now and then on stage when you're interviewing someone, you get get this sense that the people in the audience are just, you could hear a pin drop. That's what happened earlier this year when I was interviewing Aiko Bathia, one of the most respected senior leadership coaches in the country. I was interviewing Aiko at the Better Up conference Uplift Conference, and I was talking to Aiko about her new book, Anchored, Aligned, and Accountable, which I'll tell you about in a second.
And we basically got into a real-life, real-time role play while she was coaching me through a leadership conflict that was tearing me up at the time. And When our session at the conference was over, half the audience was in tears and the other half were lining up to talk to Ike about their conflicts in leadership. Iacopathy is a friend and mentor. She is an absolute partner for me in the Dare to Lead work. She's one of the most incredible coaches and facilitators that I've ever had the privilege to work with. She has just authored a new book called Anchored, Aligned, and Accountable. And she introduces a framework that focuses on why self-leadership is so critical in today's complex operating environment.
In our conversation, we dig in to the difference between assuming positive intent and and believing that people are doing the absolute best they can and holding people accountable. Aiko teaches me about this powerful coaching practice of three levels of listening. And she talks about... How our bodies and minds are the real machines that we need to master before we worry about AI or machine learning or anything else. I think at a time when many of us are struggling to find ourselves and to find each other, her Anchored Aligned Accountable Framework really offers a clear practical path to building trust and connection as leaders, as partners. As friends, and I will say as parents, I use this framework with my kids.
I'm so proud to say that her framework has become deeply integrated into the Dare to Lead work and transformation work we do with organizations around the world. So welcome to this masterclass in coaching. It's a real opportunity to learn. I was going to say at my expense, but no, it's okay. I was worn out by the time it was over. I went back to my hotel room, into the conference hotel room, had a little bit of a good cry, an equally powerful laugh, and then took a nap. And just a reminder, hiatus ends. This is the last hiatus podcast. And then we're back next week with, you can hear, I think you can hear me smiling, with a new podcast where we are joined by Roger Bennett, one of my favorite people in the world, to talk about
lessons on love, laughter, and what the World Cup meant to the world.
What inspired the Anchored, Aligned, and Accountable framework and how was it introduced?
So I'm glad you're with us. Thanks for hanging in during our hiatus, and we're excited to be back with you.
Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile. Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited premium wireless for $15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills. But it turns out That's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try at mintmobile.com slash switch.
Upfront payment of $45 for three months, $90 for six months, or $180 for 12 month plan required. $15 per month equivalent. Taxes and fees extra. Initial plan term only greater than 50 gigabytes. May slow when network is busy. See terms. Welcome to the Curiosity Shop.

Hi, Aiko. Hey. I cannot tell y'all how excited I am to be here with my friend, teaching partner, facilitation partner, co-conspirator. What other words would you use? All the things. All the things. To talk about, and I think everybody got a copy, anchored, aligned, and accountable. Yeah. I thought it would be fun to tell you a little bit about our relationship and how we met, to start there.
