NASA confirms a meteor streaked across the Texas skies at 35,000 miles an hour and exploded over the Bammel neighborhood north of Houston, causing a pressure wave that set off sonic booms, sent thousands of meteorites cascading through the skies.

A Houston woman told Fox 26 one crashed through a roof.

The Ponderosa fire captain responded, saw the marbleized, veined rock was unusual, and there was no construction or trees nearby.

Scavengers still scouring for meteorites from a seven-ton fireball that exploded over Cleveland last Tuesday.
