You know, I grew up in coastal New Hampshire and Portsmouth.

And in the late 60s, early 70s, obviously the Vietnam War was still going on.

And you had the nightly news, Walter Cronkite and all that kind of stuff.

And they'd show videos of...

helicopters zipping across the screen.

And I said, that's what I want to do.

And that kind of dropped off after a while.

And eventually the Be All You Can Be commercials caught my attention.

Really?

Yeah.

They worked on you.

They did.

I don't know.

Getting in is tough.

It just was something I wanted to do.

I wanted to fly.

No, I just thought it was cool.

So I go to the Army recruiter, and I'm like, hey, I want to go graduate in high school.

Can I go fly helicopters?

Because that's one of the things that they had.
