And the easiest way to do it was to convert to flight credits, which most airlines did.
Now, at the start,
We did say we got that wrong and making sure it was clear to customers that they had the choice for refunds.
But we also had the call center melting down at the time because of all the disruption because it wasn't designed for that.
And the easiest thing was to ask customers, would they accept taking it in credit and then using it?
And then over time, the credits was chunky.
And I again, apologize for that.
But over time, we got better and better and better.
And eventually, you know, after 1.6 billion in credits that were there, by the time I'd left, that had come down to less than 600 million.
So a billion of the credits were used.
None of the Qantas credits ever expire.
And there's still over 300 million.
If any of your listeners have a credit, there's still 300 million of them there on the Qantas balance sheet.
And they still can use them today.
So go back and find it or go to Qantas and try and find it because they're still usable.
So by the end, we did the right thing and got it right.
At the start, we didn't and it was messy.
And I regret that.
But it was the nature of the situation we were in.
Well, because, you know, it wasn't what we were accused of at the time, and I think subsequently that came out, because there wasn't a fee for no service.
