Because before the Hobbits came back after the War of the Ring, you know, we read about the Hobbits and all they care about, the only ones that have the ability to read, what they care about reading is their genealogies.
Genealogies, yeah.
And it takes this greater series of events for them to start getting interested in world history.
Yeah.
But it also made me think back to Faramir talking to Frodo and Sam.
And here's that passage, folks.
Faramir says, and he's criticizing his own people here.
He says, kings made tombs more splendid than houses of the living and counted old names and the roles of their descent dearer than the names of sons.
And he's talking about the days of the kings when things were actually better.
