Like I knew that there were parts about the religious aspect that I learned in church that weren't totally aligned with me.

And then I just didn't know where I belonged.
And then I always felt like I was unworthy.
And I just have been searching my whole life.
So when I heard your album and heard Note to Self and Same God, I was like, oh my God, you're brave enough to write all this though.
Because that takes bravery to speak that out loud because you're kind of telling your upbringing and your family, like, I love you so much, but like, this is me and all of my mess that I am trying to discover.
And I'm trying to really figure out who I am and I'm not afraid to voice the messy parts.
And I was so scared to speak that out loud.
How did you get that bravery?
Because that's so terrifying because you don't want to let your family down.
You don't want to let your parents down.
You don't want to let your God down or religion or whatever you've grown up with.
But you know you have to go figure it out.
Totally.
How are you so brave?
Oh, my God.
Well, thank you.
I have not felt brave this whole way through.
But I feel like nervous and sick.
