Yeah, 1-0 in the end, Ireland fell a defeat to France.

So they didn't manage to secure the automatic World Cup qualification route as a result, but they will still be able to chance via the playoffs, the ins and outs of which we'll have covered before.

talk about quality that goal last night that was just came out of nowhere in one respect obviously France were peppering the goal all together but the actual degree of quality of the goal was amazing oh yeah it was really just a striker's instinct

yeah fair play to the French they just had that bit of creativity and yeah just a great finish really like Courtney had no chance to stop that one yeah it was Melvin Mallard obviously with the goal in the 48th minute bicycle kick absolutely classy I have to say and people might remember her from the reverse fixture obviously she was the heartbreaker as well there but

But yeah, aside from her, Cascarino, Baltimore, there were a lot of the French players that were prolific, you have to say.

Obviously, they dominated the first half and a few good saves from Brosnan within that.
