My name is Jared, and I live just up the road from this site.
And I'm here because I want to see these families housed, and I want this site to stay housing for families.
So tonight, I just have one ask.
So back in November 2024, the city made the county a promise, and it's in the materials in front of all of you tonight.
The city promised a covenant recorded on the property that would keep the site for families.
A covenant will be recorded, but it only keeps the site for temporary housing.
It does not keep it for families, the one thing the city promised.
So right now the promise is just a line in the agreement.
A recorded covenant stays with the property no matter who owns or runs it later.
A requirement in a contract does not.
So here's my ask.
Before the city's money goes out, record the family covenant the city already promised.
This doesn't hold anything up.
