The city's money doesn't go out until the building opens at least a year from now.
That's plenty of time to get the family promise recorded first.
The city attorney can ward it so it protects these families without putting the state's funding at risk.
There would be just one exception, a bed that would otherwise sit empty.

This isn't a reason to vote no.
It's a reason to hold the city to its own promise.

Yeah, they talk about how the police or the ICE agents are criminals.
That's painting a broad brush across something that shouldn't be brought up.
There's crime in other workforces.
Of course, we have bad apples everywhere, but we shouldn't be painting a broad brush like that.
These people in law enforcement, they risk their lives for our community.
That's something that should have been mentioned.
But also, all the billions of dollars in our California tax dollars have been misplaced.
That was supposed to go to the homeless community.
