First, I'd give him credit just for speaking to us.
He could have easily not kind of...
uh you know showed up and you know obviously he just had a kid like a couple days ago everything so credit to him for that but i think it was interesting everything you said um i think the first thing that i kind of glean on is like you know we talked about how he's committed to the team to the city but didn't really talk about anything outside of his future
It was very similar to kind of what Austin Matthews did a couple weeks ago in his exit meetings where he said, like, I can't predict the future.
It was that kind of tone.
You know, he was very frustrated by, you know, the online discourse.
I asked him even, like, what are the challenges of being online?
kind of, you know, in kind of on like in all of the Twitter, Reddit, you know, kind of discussions and all the trade rumors.
And then there was kind of obviously unsavory rumors earlier in the year about him and his family.
And he's like, yeah, I got off Twitter.
So he was clearly, he's clearly listened and watched what everyone's been saying on Twitter.
And I think it's had an effect on him.
And it's kind of interesting to see how,
you know, a star player really get affected by, you know, as here in Ottawa all year, we've talked about the outside noise, but the outside noise has really affected Kachuk and, and,
I think it's not great for Ottawa's chances to keep him just because you could tell he was wearing it.
And I think if things were much more quieter in Ottawa and everything online as well, I think he'd probably feel better about kind of being in Ottawa too.
So now that's not me saying that he's made a decision or that I know anything on that matter, but I don't think it's a good thing that he feels frustrated and kind of worn down by the media.
I think you probably nailed it on the head.
I think it's a confluence of a bunch of things.
I think it's the fact that his brother left Calgary and doesn't seem to want to come back to Canada that often.
