And picking out a new book.
A new companion to while away the hours with.
It was my favourite bookshop.
I was normally the only customer in there.
One day the owner, who later introduced herself as Nancy, mentioned they were hiring and I applied on the spot.
Probably the only time in my life I showed the boldness my father would have approved of, actually taking charge of my life for once.
I worked there for a year or two and then, as I said.
Well joined.
He annoyed me.
