He did respect Trump very much.
But I think that respect was very much in the context of understanding that Trump is the president and pushing against him is not good for you if you want to stay in what he calls the game.
So he will move wherever he needs to move to maintain his relevance.
and to push his agenda.
The other thing I'll say that was very important was really golf.
The importance of golf in their relationship was absolutely enormous.
I mean, the amount of influence or the amount of things he could push towards President Trump took place on the golf course.
And I think that was key in their relationship.
So, you know, the number of times, again, he would say that he was playing golf with Trump and he would send pictures or selfies of him playing.
Sometimes he would put it on social media as well.
So he, you know, he absolutely, that was at the key in their relationship.
We have some moments in a documentary of them speaking and it's fascinating to hear those conversations.
So, but one of the things that, you know, he did with respect to Trump is that sometimes he would say
to try and push back against issues that he didn't agree with with President Trump.
He would say, well, if you do that, that's sort of what President Obama would do.
And that would change his thinking in some respects.
It was strategic.
Oh, absolutely.
Again, controversial, no question, but smart at being able to push his agendas.
Yeah, absolutely.
