Um and I wanted to thank you so much again uh for for joining me today to chat.
thank you for having me.
So um I can came to philosophy in a s in a somewhat strange way.
I actually came through uh Chinese.
Um so I studied uh Chinese language um when I was an undergraduate.
Um and I was taking I took a medieval philosophy course and was kind of interested in in philosophy as well, but discovered uh Chinese philosophy um in Confucianism and Taoism and the early Chinese texts through uh some classes that were that were connected to my uh uh study in Chinese.
And really just kind of fell in love with those uh with those texts.
Um and so I transferred into uh philosophy um and started it at back where I was an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, that was in the philosophy department, it was it was mainly Western contemporary analytic uh stuff, a few history classes as well.
Um but I I kind of discovered that there was this alternative way of uh encountering philosophy through uh Chinese philosophy, and that kind of
got me into into that uh going in that direction.
And so that's what ended uh I ended up uh focusing on was uh Chinese classical Chinese philosophy.
And um I kind of I I I I kinda g I get bored easily with uh with projects, so I kind of wander a lot.
Um in history in general I I gener tend to like kind of the the um
the things that aren't covered as much, right, in the in the ancient world, uh in historical, uh philosophical text.
And kind of d I discovered uh Maya thought um actually working on um astronomy.
