I'm Alexis McLeod, Associate Professor of Philosophy in Asian and Asian American Studies at the University of Connecticut.
And I'm co-host of this channel, along with Robert Talise, Carrie Figdore, and Sarah Tyson.
I'm joined today by Malcolm Keating, assistant professor of philosophy at Yale and US College in Singapore.
He's here to discuss his new book.

Uh well Malcolm, uh, thanks for for joining me today to uh talk about your book, um, which I really uh thought was great, by the way.
Um we'll talk a bit about that down the route.
But um f first I wanted to start out by asking if you could tell us a bit about uh how you came to philosophy and Indian philosophy and the topic of this uh book in particular.
That's really interesting.
So Mukhal, wh where does he kind of stand in terms of like the the the traditions that you that you mentioned in Indian thought?
I uh one of the things I thought was interesting, you you you noticed you uh talked about how Muchala's thought has been has been somewhat neglected.
And I thought when I would when I read that, I thought, um so there's uh I work on the Chinese philosopher Wang Chong, and it's a very similar situation.
And he was he was neglected, but you have horribly neglected.
And I think the reason for him was that he didn't really have a team, right?
