you should have a collaboration agreement with your co-author where you work it all out and it'll have everything from your financial split to what if one of you decides to pull out of the project or, you know.

And I think too, the things you can disagree about, and I think it's probably, it's good to have a conversation early on about books you both like in terms of style and register because you might have different ideas of the tone of the book and you won't know that until you start working on the page.

And I think that's why it's really important to figure those things out early.

And if you can't, it's actually not dissimilar from deciding to get married.

If you don't feel comfortable having that conversation with a potential co-author, then you probably shouldn't be partners on a creative and professional endeavor.
