Hi, my name's Alicia Weston and I'm the CEO and founder of Bags of Taste.

I used to volunteer with Crisis, the homeless charity.

I did financial volunteering with them.

And they asked me because they knew that I was running a very successful supper club if I would teach them cooking lessons, which...

I had not done before.

So I taught some cooking lessons there and I did two courses.

And what I observed was people didn't go home and cook that food again at home.

That was basically the problem.

So every week I would say, did you cook that again?

And they just hadn't.

And I tried to make it easier to do.

So I kept trying to improve it.

But I just really strongly didn't feel that those people were going home and cooking the food again at home.

Now, this is obviously a very particular cohort of people, really quite vulnerable, often, you know, had been street homeless and were just recently housed.

And that bothered me.

And I remember listening to a program about the cost of diabetes.

And I thought.

how is the NHS going to afford this?

The NHS is going to run out of money.
