And he was very close to collapse.
And everyone said, OK, it's just a matter of days.
But he survived a few more years until the time came.
And within 11 days, the whole thing went down.
The reason I give that example is that there are certain limits, number one.
Second, it's not just gonna happen by itself, the fact that, okay, enough time has passed, now is the time for the regime to go.
You need to have the means and the infrastructure for change.
Third, this, you know, the war that first we had in June of last year and then again this year has perhaps created this wrong perception as though that the war itself is going to lead to change.
simply because you got rid of the supreme leader, the commanders of the Russian guards, they received blows and all of that.
Yes, but none of that is gonna lead to change because the way this regime is built,
All these years, there is a reason for spending all the money and resources there.
But this regime is at the same time extremely vulnerable to their own population, the young people who from within are confronting them.
And the best proof for that is the execution of these young people in the middle of the war showing where the problem is now.
Let me introduce a few other elements.
Now, one of the things that actually helped the regime over the years to stay in power was the policy of appeasement.
And appeasement was pursued both by the various administrations here in the United States, but also in Europe.
What appeasement does is not just the money and resources they gave them and legitimacy they gave them, but that policy
inherently went against the people, the organized opposition.
You know, we were a victim of that policy.
We got designated in 1997, right after Khatami, the so-called moderate, became president.
