So I'm so glad you brought that up because
It is it is really um the reason I started the work that I do and the reason I started um working in the industry that uh I worked in coming out of college.
So just to give you a little bit of uh context on my background, so like mentioned in my bio, my parents are from Bangladesh.
Um I was born and raised in New Orleans.
They immigrated there in the nineties and
One thing I'm like really grateful for is the is the Bangladeshi community that we had in the Greater New Orleans area because it was it was a socioeconomically diverse community.
My parents, when they moved to the US, they you know they were working service jobs.
Um they were trying to navigate the educational ecosystem, the financial ecosystem in this country, um, figuring it out on their own, but actually
actually they weren't on their own because we had the whole Bengali village supporting them and there's, you know, aunties, we call them aunties and uncles, even though we're not related, um, who had been there for five or ten years before my parents and
They were the ones sharing, um, you know, how to navigate the financial system, how to navigate the educational system for us.
Um and so I bring that up because it there was socioeconomic diversity just within that community that gave my siblings, my cousins and I access to information that we otherwise would not have gotten.
And so when I went to college, I went to the University of Pennsylvania for my undergrad, um, it was it was honestly the first time I saw Welp.
