And there is a general sense of unfairness amongst the people you speak to.
They say, we've paid taxes for years and here we are and we are really struggling and we are worried about the future.
Yeah, it's trying to look at what that individual needs.
And that's a really good example about rather than having 10 different people asking the same story over and over again.
doing their own little bit, but not joining those bits up.
If you avoid that, you have more person-centred care.
But the other bit of it is actually finding out what helps that person.
If it's a long-term condition, it might not be about something medical or health-related.
It might be simply...
trying to get them involved in a club so they're not so lonely.
It might be making sure that they can get out into their garden so they can enjoy that.
It's looking at what makes that person feel better and helping them do that so that, you know, the argument is and the evidence is that improves people's lives.
One example that is often being given to me by care staff of how good social care can work.
It's a really sort of down to earth thing.
They say that if an older person has a good level of social care, they get to know their care worker.
If they develop some sort of infection, like a urine retract infection, a UTI, which is very common.
That care worker is more likely to pick it up.
