And as we've seen, as I say, in lots of parts of Europe and elsewhere, when others look at other parties, at alternative parties, they are often looking towards the extremes.
I think it is a combination.
Okay, so if we just take Merz as an individual, he's never been hugely popular.
It took him a number of rounds in the Bundestag to be selected and approved to become Germany's Chancellor.
His popularity ratings have always been pretty low.
They are now absolutely rock bottom.
I think possibly one of the least popular Chancellors in Germany's post-war history.
He is rumoured to have a women problem and not be an appealing politician for many female voters in Germany.
So, and to be quite stubborn.
He's a very wealthy, he's got a background of very wealthy businessman, seen as out of touch.
You know, kind of, again, a lot of sort of these accusations we've seen been playing out elsewhere.
So, individually, not popular.
But, yeah, we see with these populist parties, nationalist parties,
They promise to fix all of the country's problems.
And that is a reasonably easy thing to do when you're not in power.
Not taking anything away.
I've spent a lot of time at AFD rallies, and they are clearly, they have an energy.

You know, they have an attraction that the more mainstream established political parties have failed to get themselves.
