That's probably what that alludes to.
Right at this point of time, there's no means testing.
There's no anything else.
So you can get whatever income you like from whatever source, and it's always on top of New Zealand super.
Yeah.
It's income.
It's just income.
So, again, if we think about state pensions for a minute as well, because we often get asked this, can I pick up a New Zealand pension?
super and a uk state pension so new zealand and the uk have a an agreement effectively a reciprocal agreement so you get one or the other so you can either get your uk pension or whatever proportion of it you're entitled to and that is used as the base and then new zealand super tops it up to the equivalent level over here
or you can forego that UK pension, which effectively is paid to the New Zealand government, and you get New Zealand super, which is the easier way of doing it.
There was.
Yes.
I can tell you a little bit about that.
It's not something that we...
particularly encourage people to do because, again, loopholes are loopholes.
Not only can they be closed, they can be retrospectively changed.
So there was a loophole where if you'd worked over 10 years in the UK, you could fund back and buy back the UK state pension.
So you could fund it privately.
I'm not sure of the exact amounts involved, but you could effectively pay a certain amount of money in.
You'd get a massive benefit buyback on it.
