What I think this deal is really about is protecting his position in power, not only through the midterms and the 2028 election, whatever he decides to do, but post-presidency as well.

Why else would you be asking for permanent legal immunity, not only for all the crimes you committed in the White House that the Supreme Court so thoughtfully gave him, but for any kind of tax liability for all your businesses and family?
