I don't know if he has the slightest amount of shame, so he didn't want to make contact with us.
I watched his face on a few of our statements and a few things that were said.
And if you zoom in on his face, it seems like he has a reaction to certain things.
You know, when I talk about the phone calls or, you know, Missy's niece talking about, you know, she should have had her mother there with her.
And he just seems like he swallows deeper and blinks really hard during certain moments of the speeches.
So it seems like he not feels bad for us, but just kind of, I don't know, maybe even feels bad for himself.
or disappointed in himself like i think he enjoyed the attention that he got from the cameras being there you'd see him smirk you know certain things people would say about things he did he would smirk but i think he was just more disappointed in himself so he didn't want to face the rest of the world you know the people in the room at least people judging him did he seem to have any ounce of remorse when you were just a few inches away from him during the victim impact statements
I mean, the only time that I noticed watching back the videos, the only time that he seemed to have any type of emotion was when I spoke about phone calls and the things that he said.
That's when, you know, he did that hard swallow and just kind of he really closed his eyes for a minute.
Like it just I don't know, it just seemed like it affected him a little bit because the rest of the time you watch and he's blinking and swallowing normal.
I hope so.
That's what I like to think.
And maybe he just really needed a glass of water or something, but it seemed like it got to him.
I think the easiest part was the beginning of my impact statement where I'm talking about my sister and growing up and our life together.
I had started writing that right when we knew sentencing would be the next one and that we had a chance to write the impact statements.
So I started writing that part right away.
And then I took a good month, month and a half break and distracted myself doing other things because it was stressful.
And it was like, how do I even find the words to say how I'm feeling for 17 years and how to make it safe for court, respectable-ish.
There were things I would write down, but I'm like, he doesn't care about this.
He doesn't care about that.
