Jane was at the protest outside Parliament last Thursday, joining about 50 others from all over the country who are against the bill.

About an hour after the protest finished, the Labour Party put out a press release to say if voted in in November, it will repeal the bill, replacing it with, and I will quote this, legislation developed alongside disabled people that protects their rights, independence and choice.
Right now the government is acting quickly.

And how is the government responding to this?
Are they surprised by how much backlash there has been?

So at its core, this is a debate over whether the government is protecting the future of disability support or cutting back support for disabled New Zealanders.
And every week it seems more and more Kiwis are taking a side.
