I would be mortified to be associated with someone who holds views like that, never mind to have them around people I love and what's meant to be a joyful day.

The issue is I didn't hear it myself and it really doesn't match up with what I know of them.

This all came through someone else and while I trust the source, there's always that doubt.

Were things taken out of context?

Was it exaggerated because everyone was drunk?

Am I judging someone based on second-hand information?

I know them five plus years and I've never seen them make any disparaging remarks about anyone.
