And I had to call my sister and I was like, and she was like, just go for a walk. And I was like, okay. So I like went for a walk and I just like, I felt really overwhelmed. And then I went for lunch with my team and it was meant to be a really nice lunch. Like before we do the Oscars, like to celebrate, like just to be nice. And I literally, they were like, are you okay?
And I was like, I'm not okay. And I was like, again, like heavy breathing. I was like, oh, like I felt so nervous. But I get nervous because I want to do a good job. Like that's what I get nervous about. And I get nervous. I'm going to blank.

asking questions that like are unusual that people like don't expect because like there's such a long history of like red carpet reporting and some of it is so incredible and some of it is just like quite repetitive and um i'm trying to ask something different so i just worry and i get nervous that i'm just gonna blank and be like so like what are you wearing right right i guess the first one was like the gq man of the year which was like yes three years ago
And you still do that? Yeah, I still do that because I love it because they get such a good group of people and I just love GQ and they're so nice to me there and it's nice to do a great one in the UK and they just always get amazing people.
how do you prep for these things? Like, do you always know who you're talking to or like, how do you?
Yeah, they give us a list beforehand of like guests, but then that kind of can change. And then they can also send like names really last minute, which I love. And then, yeah, I guess normally like me and my sister and then like another writer will like prep all questions and we'll do general questions that we can ask anyone.
And then we'll do individual questions, like five individual questions for each person.
And then I have the... And then I just kind of try and memorize them, and then I, like, have them on cue cards. But then, really, when I'm interviewing people, I can't even look at my cue cards, so I kind of do have to memorize them. And, like, at SNL 50, I was super nervous, and I kept forgetting my questions. Uh-huh.
And I kept just asking the same questions that my sister was there, being, like, in the in-ears, being, like...
asking the same questions to me and I was like Zoe I know I do I'm just like so nervous like Kristen Wiig is right there queuing up next to my Rudolph like all these people and I was like Fred Armisen and I was like I can't do it but then I feel like I left being like oh my god I didn't perform very well like and then I then basically a fan I have a fan page like a new fan page that like
I didn't have any fan pages before but now I have this new one and they are so good at like their edits and so they made an edit of the live stream from SNL 50 and so when I woke up in the morning I watched it like their edit they did a compilation and then I was like oh right you did do a good job and then I felt better about it because I was like they had made a really good edit that is I feel like the best feeling in the entire world but it's I feel like it's also like are you the type who like sets your expectations low so that it can be like
Yeah, and it's funny because the first time I did, when I did the Golden Globes, I had my expectations so high. I was like, I'm going to get every single person that I've prepped for. Like, what the hell? I'm so deluded. That's what I would think. Yeah, I was like, I'm going to get everyone. I'm going to get Taylor. I'm going to get Rihanna.
I was like, I'm going to get an interview with Taylor Swift. I'm going to get an interview with Rihanna and all these people that I'd prepped for. And then I couldn't get... Like, I couldn't get, like, less than half the people that I prepped for. Like, I feel like I only got, like, 10 people.
And then that really set my expectations right for, like, then future carpets where I'm just, like, lucky to get, like, anyone.
Right, right, right. Okay, and were you so, like, disappointed in the moment?
Yeah, I was. I literally left the carpet and I was like... I can't believe, I can't believe we couldn't get like all the people that I wanted to get, even though I got so many amazing interviews, but I just like wanted to get like every single person I wanted to do a hundred interviews in an hour. Yeah.
But, but yeah, no, that, but that carpet was great because I got like an amazing interview with Andrew Garfield. So it actually ended up being great.
