But this person in my life spoke up and spoke up firmly and directly.
And-
I was really, really proud of them.
And that might be something that you even practice doing because I was thinking about if I was in the situation of the person close to me and how they reacted and how perfect it was.
I was thinking, oh, I wonder if they did a little dress rehearsal, like a little run through of different scenarios that might happen and like what's going to be your response.
Because if it's people that are still in your life at some point, you may be put in a situation and you don't want to be caught off guard or you don't want to be vulnerable.
And then you don't want to let them cross the line because then it's like, oh, well, I already let, you know.
So maybe a little role play.
Whether that's with yourself or with a friend.
Or out loud, walking around, talking to yourself in public.
Practice on strangers.
Nobody will think anything of it.
You'll look totally normal and it will be fine.
I think for me, it's the, I don't, I like to, for me, the forgiveness part works.
Like that is something that works for me.
And that helps.
I mean, I'm not, I may not forget like with, with my dad, my sister and I were talking about, uh, when we were kids and he left us for another woman and, uh,
How way later in life, decades later, he circled back of like, I had my priorities wrong.
And my sister and I were just talking about it last week in Colorado because I read that book, Strangers.
And I'm not giving away anything in the book.
