And I feel like that's how my dad was.
However, I do have compassion for my dad.
And I think my dad was overall a good person.
My daughter got a tattoo that says, and I'm paraphrasing, but it says like every good story has a few bad chapters, right?
And that was something that came up like when my sister and I were talking, my daughter was there with her tattoo and she read that and they were like, oh my gosh, that is so true.
And it made us think of our dad of how he had overall was known to be a really good, caring person.
But to like his kids and his wives, because there were four wives, it's like, oh, but was he really that?
He just did.
He made some poor choices.
He had his priorities out of whack.
But, you know, when he hit his 70s, he started thinking about the kind of life he wanted to live and how he had lived it.
And he had some regret.
And it was too late.
But I think it's when I think about my half brother, my half sister, my sister and I and the kind of relationship we had with our dad, even though he handled leaving my half brother and half sister that way, like they got adopted by their new stepdad and my dad let them like they have a different last name.
He did that first.
He did that first because they're older.
And I can imagine if like right now Ben were to get remarried and be like, hey, my new wife wants to adopt the kids.
Are you cool with that?
I'd be like, no, we good.
Well, I meant like we're good the way we are.
