Like some sense of like finding justice or I almost like wanted it to be justified in some way.
Like maybe I wanted it to be an accident because I didn't want to believe that it was, um,
And to be dragged along, I mean, some, you know, some of his confessions included possibilities that she was still alive, that she was sold into sex slavery.
So I think that there was, you know, it's impossible to not lose hope.
Even, you know, obviously I'm very removed from the story and from the actual people, but
I think even as recently as a few years ago when he was finally, well, I say finally confessed, but the most recent confession, there was still this, I agree, I knew in my heart and in my gut, it was impossible that she all these years later was still alive.
But it's hard to let go of that tiny piece of hope.
Because you so badly want this to be a nightmare, to be like, oh, this horrible film that we watched, but it's not true.
It doesn't actually happen to people.
And I think for Beth, because she turned her experience into sort of a newfound purpose or reason for continuing, she needed that hope to keep going.
Yeah, I think two things come to mind.
One in, you know, very similar vein.
There is, um, a montage, um,
and I'm forgetting now if it was in Natalie Holloway or Justice for Natalie, the sequel that we did, but we did sort of a happy montage.
And it was graduation day and Natalie like running through a field in her cap and gown and doing cartwheels and cuddling with her mom.
Not necessarily like what could have been, but what the life that she had, this was a...
young girl who was so full of life and so full of potential so i think those the happy moments i can absolutely relate to what he said that they those were the most surprising i think for me like the difficulty in filming those was really surprising yeah because i thought those would be the easiest to film but it was imagining and really understanding and living like
the joy that was so, was cut so short.
Um, that's so interesting that you bring that up too, because I don't think I would have thought about that, but now reflecting the, yeah, the surprise of, um,
how hard those scenes were.
