We're also allowed to talk about how much Mike Matheson loves to play in Montreal.

I mean, come on.

He took a hometown discount to stay here.

Could have received a—I'm not making this up.

This is something that someone actually said this week in the media.

He could have received a $9.5 to $10 million contract elsewhere.

I feel sorry for that hypothetical team.

And great if he loves to play in Montreal.

How is that helping him to help the Canadians win games?

And, you know, if Matheson loves to play in Montreal, that is wonderful.

He took the hometown discount to stay in Montreal.

That's wonderful.

Those things go a long way towards Mike Matheson being a likable guy, a likable human being overall.

In general, got no qualms with that, but that doesn't equate to him being a good defenseman or helping the Canadians with their defensive issues.

But it's something that the Montreal media has said this week, and that's what we're allowed to say.

We're also, thirdly, was said this week, and so apparently this is on the approved list, that Matheson is a workhorse.

Was he a workhorse when he and Noah Dobson looked across the slot at each other on either side of the net and just stared at each other as the puck shot right down the middle between the two of them the other night?

And a veteran should know that you can't, you should not be out there for a two-minute shift on the PK.
