I've got that 20% can be put to better use.
And so it might be saying like, how do I simplify my wardrobe so I don't have to make decisions?
You just know where the stuff goes and you just do it.
It makes so much sense, right?
And when it comes to all the other stuff in our home, so the saying, a home for everything and everything in its home has been passed down from generation to generation to generation for a very good reason.
Because when items have a home and when items are in their home, you don't have to make decisions.
You don't have to look for things or find things or decide where to put it or go on a hunt for it.
You're not expending any extra energy.
If you want a particular salad bowl, you go and get it.
If you need the life vest so you can go on the boat, you go and get it.
If you need a letter or a card so you can encourage someone, you just go and get it.
And by having homes for all these items, you are reducing the friction.
And by reducing friction, you're making it easier.
You're making it easier on your brain to have this path of least resistance.
So at the moment, if you feel like your home takes a lot of brain power, it's actually, you're working a lot to make your home work.
Have a think about some ways that you can apply this principle.
Have a think about areas in your home where this could apply.
And it might be really small.
Maybe it's your bathroom routine.
And so it's about pulling out of the shower any products you're not currently using so that when you're in the shower, you don't have to make decisions about which shampoo to use.
