Look, we say there were only 19 and 20, but to think that a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old were capable of that kind of violence, that's scary to think if this hadn't happened then, what more could have happened had they not gotten caught eventually?
Right.
But yes, both of these men had attorneys fighting for them in terms of appeals, talking about their terrible childhoods and how abused they were as kids.
And that all very well may be true to to get to a point where you could be that young and have that much violence inside of you.
But look, the attorneys for Ramey are now filing.
They filed their final appeal today.
to the US Supreme Court that is what every death row inmate gets to do before their execution if they so choose and their big point is there was no physical evidence linking him to the killings

They also claimed that jurors never got to hear about how he suffered physical abuse as a child and grew up in poverty.
But wouldn't you say that almost would pretty much every person on death row could check those boxes?
And if that were some sort of mitigating circumstance or some sort of circumstance that would allow them to not face the death penalty, I would argue most people on death row probably would...
have their sentences commuted to life, if that was going to be the point at which they would say, okay, well, we feel sorry for you because you had a tough life.

I have not heard any official word on that, but that would make a whole lot of sense.
Because, look, these families, and you've got three separate families who have been through hell and have been waiting for justice for 21 years or so.
