Um I I was still afraid that people will not understand what I'm saying or uh I will not use the right words.

So it was it was a terrifying experience.

But then I traveled to over fifty countries.

And I realize that in in most cases you

You don't need

to have a ver do you don't need to be very fluent in in English, right?

So you only need like

uh you only need to

Uh, speak in very fixed situations, uh, when you're traveling.

Um, and then what also happened next is I got a job in an international company.

So I started to work in an international environment and uh

Uh I kind of yeah, my confidence grew a lot from being in this environment.

But still I never worked in an English speaking environment entirely until I got here.

Um and uh when I got here, my perception of this country was like I don't need to speak Dutch, at least for the time being, because everyone speaks English here and uh yeah, I I can if if my English is good enough, then I will have no problem getting a job or meeting people or just connecting.

And then what I discovered very fastly is that that wasn't true.

No, you you need to learn the language.

As a sign of appreciation to um my new home uh culture.

And as uh as a way of showing people that you are not a foreigner and you are taking it seriously or taking people seriously.
