A B two, B one level.

I'm I'm following an intensive course that takes you from B one to B two which

basically means that I can operate in um everyday scenarios like going to a store or uh going to a restaurant is not a problem.

But uh whenever I have to give a talk in Dutch, uh I cannot do that yet.

Yeah, exactly.

That's that's what I've seen happening to so many people.

And that happens, you know, I also speak Spanish and when I go to Spain I I first pretend to be a foreigner because my Spanish is not that fluent.

Um now.

But uh as I start to speak the local language, um I see how

how people's

faces and and their body language changes and you are absolutely right.

Like yesterday I was uh giving a talk on how to craft your signature talk for TEDx.

And one of the attendees was a uh woman from from the Netherlands.

Uh she was basically my friend and we've met each other like a year ago.

Back then I could barely say anything in in Dutch.

And yesterday I I threw in a few phrases in in in Dutch and she was like, oh

I mean there's so much talk about

The fact that AI will replace that and we will all have glasses, you know, that are translating everything that other another person is saying to us and we will won't need to learn the languages.

But honestly, being a an international journalist and a translator at the beginning of my career, that's what I've been hearing for twenty years.
