Yay.
What are some of those other things that can actually hinder later?
Yeah.
Even things like that social-emotional, we talked about that before you brought that up, that's really key.
A lot of resource teachers of learning behaviour are coming through and saying, oh my gosh, we've noticed...
lack of resilience and teachers will say risk-taking.
So those are two social-emotional ones that are really important.
And risk-taking isn't just, you know, walking along in a log by themselves.
It's actually taking risks in our work.
And if you go back to, gosh, 20-odd years ago when that first research came out, it was children would prefer to be correct
and get it right than taking a risk and getting it wrong.
And when we've got, if we accidentally use things like, oh, good girl or good boy when they've got it right, subconsciously the brain's going, okay, if I get things right, I'm good.
Therefore, oh, if I get things wrong, I'm bad.
I don't want to be bad, so I'm not going to push myself or step outside.
Yeah, so we've got to be really careful about our language as well.
Yeah.
And sometimes, you know, as parents, we've got to be careful that we don't try and push our child too much because, you know, if we're going, oh, my gosh, I'm wanting to do this or I'm going to get them to do some flashcards and we're going to do this and great.
Because inside it could be like, oh, I've got to keep pushing.
maybe I'm going to keep learning this, I'm going to keep doing this, and oh, if I can't do that, that's not so... So it can actually build a little bit of anxiety, and we really are seeing that worldwide, an increase in anxiety.
You talk to the resource teachers, learning behaviour, that's one of their biggest things that they're noticing, you know, an increase in anxiety.
