it's like I've been writing this for seven hours and I haven't stopped and I don't want to stop and this is the best thing I've done and I think that's and then I turn in the story and
I remember listening to my peers talk about it and the professor Horacio Castellanos Moya, who is a very, a really great writer.
He said, I think we're discussing the story.
So the story really is finished.
It's done.
So because we're discussing what it's about, we're not workshopping it.
Yeah.
And it felt so good to hear that.
And I thought, yes, this is the thing I want to do.
Whatever it takes, this is the thing I'm going to do.
And even if I had some prior experience, I think that's the first time I said, yes, writing is going to be the big bet of my life.
And we'll see where it takes me.
One of them is I developed this thing when I was in, I did like two year writer's residency in Spain.
And it was nerve wracking because my only thing I had to do was write.
And so many times I couldn't and I would spiral into not being able to do it when I had all the time in the world to do it.
And I had a friend there and we developed this thing where we'll meet in the late afternoon.
He would say to me, this we're doing, this coffee we're doing, you can put it up as writing expenses to the bank of time.
And so we developed this thing of thinking of the bank of time and that we could put as writing expenses, going to the movies, talking to each other, reading each other.

It reminds me that writing is not just what I do on the page, but so much of living is also writing.
