You know, when you were in Beaumont that day and you know, what was it like for you?

Because then you kind of have to face, oh, God, OK, especially the brain, I think, because I always remember my sister had brain cancer and she said to me, if we're anywhere else, I might have a chance.

But you can't continue to cut out of your brain.

and she used to be so upset about that but I think when you when it's progressing to different organs and when it goes to the brain it is a terrifying scenario because it's very very difficult to treat that did you realise that at the time and were you scared I suppose yeah yeah I think oh yeah I was like we all she's called we all were like and I think but I think because he was very open yeah about talking about it like helped you

Yeah, I think that probably did.

Like, it's funny, one of my very close friends would say to me and certainly said to me at the time, she said to me one day, you know, she said, you actually mourned your dad's passing long before he died.

And I think now, like, actually, I think I recognised that at the time.

Probably around the time that it went to his brain, that May and June and July thing.

I would describe that as being the most... For me, just personally speaking, I found that the most difficult time because I think that was probably the point at which I realised this isn't going to turn a corner.

There isn't going to be some miracle development here.

You know, we are going to lose him within about a year or within a couple of months.

And I think I did mourn...

The loss of probably what I would describe, you know, was like, it's obviously your dad, but we were actually great friends behind it all as well.

So I found that exceptionally difficult at that time.

And it was funny because at the same time, well, it definitely wasn't funny actually, but at the same time,

you know, things were starting to progress for me in a work front, in here, in Newstalk, and like, I have to say, like they were, as a company, as a business, they were absolutely, like they were brilliant throughout all of that.

Yeah, they were.
